Karen grew up among a family of Master Photographers. Father, Coit Rufty and Uncle, Dave Rufty both contributed greatly in her desire to learn the art of photography. Actively participating in the family business for years was just an apprenticeship into the journey of having a business owner herself. Rufty-Weston Photography was formed in 1984 and the love of photography continues. Karen specialized only in Weddings and Bridals for years, until the arrival of her first child in 1990. Realizing how wonderful and amazing children can be, she then expanded her portfolio to include Children and Family portraits as well. Karen’s style is simple and it is left to you, the client, on what you prefer, a traditional style or a photojournalistic style of photograph. The studio is located on a 200 acre family farm in northern Iredell County and comes complete with a 2000sf. studio.
